The Face

"It is Allah(God) Who has made for you the earth as a dwelling place, and the sky as a canopy, and has given you shape- and made your shapes beautiful,- and has provided for you Sustenance, of things pure and good;- such is Allah(God) your Lord. So Glory to Allah(God), the Lord of the Worlds!" (Quran: 40/64)

The human face simply consists of two eyes, a nose and a mouth, but the faces of ten billion humans are all different from each other. Namely, the face of the human has been specificly designed to enable identification. However it is almost impossible to identify an animal ( frog, lion, cat ) by its face.

The location of the face on the human body also supports the purpose of identification. If the face of a human was located somewhere else on the body instead of the front side of the head, then it would still function for basic needs, but the human would encounter many social problems of identification and communication.

Only human beings can be recognised by their faces, and this property has been granted to humans by the Creator, Allah(God). Sculpture artists may spend years to make a symmetrical human face, but every four seconds a human is created with a new face. A French artist says : " Drawing a rose is the hardest task for an artist, because each time you have to draw a rose that has not been drawn before."

In fact, every aspect of the human face is an evidence of the art of Allah(God). Earlobes have been created so that they enable the woman to wear earrings. If whole ear was made of cartilage it would be more painful and unhealthier to wear earrings.

When we see a couple of twins, we are suprised to see how similar they are, but is it not more astonishing that the face of every newborn is different from the face of billions of humans ?

Moreover the human face is more than an artistic portrait. The human face also enables us to understand the current feelings of humans. With all its aspects, human face is another miracle of creation.

"It is Allah(God) Who has made for you the earth as a dwelling place, and the sky as a canopy, and has given you shape- and made your shapes beautiful,- and has provided for you Sustenance, of things pure and good;- such is Allah(God), your Lord. So Glory to Allah(God), the Lord of the Worlds!" (Quran: 40/64)
