The Prophet Lut was sent as a Prophet to the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. People of Sodom and Gomorrah were practicing homosexuality. Prophet Lut told the people to abandon this sin: "We also (sent) Lut: He said to his people: 'Do you commit lewdness such as no people in creation (ever) committed before you? For you practise your lusts on men in preference to women : you are indeed a people transgressing beyond bounds'." (Quran, 7:80-81).

The tribe of Lut rejected their Prophet and insisted on practicing their perversion. Therefore the tribe was destroyed by God in a disaster. "When Our Decree issued, We turned (the cities) upside down, and rained down on them brimstones hard as baked clay, spread, layer on layer." (Quran, 11/82) Today the remaining ash is composed of calcium sulfate which is a by-product of the burning of limestone and "sulfur". The raining balls were hot pressed powder sulfur.

Archaeologists discovered ziggurats, sphinxes, windows, arched doorways and city walls in the ruins of Sodom and Gomorrah. The fire that rained down upon these cities were around 5000 degrees celcius and it burned the limestone blocks that were used in the construction of the cities.



Hundreds of sulfur balls were found and collected by archaeologists. Some sulfur balls can be found inside rocks even today. Volcanic experts agree that this is the only place on earth where you can find % 96 pure sulfur in a round ball. Balls of this composition must have been sent down to earth.


This is another fact that Quran revealed 1400 years ago: "(The Messengers) said: 'O Lut! We are Messengers from your Lord! By no means shall they reach you! now travel with thy family while yet a part of the night remains, and let not any of you look back: but your wife (will remain behind): To her will happen what happens to the people. Morning is their time appointed: Is not the morning nigh?'. When Our Decree issued, We turned (the cities) upside down, and rained down on them brimstones hard as baked clay, spread, layer on layer. " (Quran: 11/81-82)

"For we are going to bring down on the people of this township a Punishment from heaven, because they have been wickedly rebellious. And We have left thereof an evident Sign, for any people who (care to) understand. " (Quran, 29:34-35)
