Pork Meat

"He has only forbidden you dead meat, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and that on which any other name has been invoked besides that of Allah(God). But if one is forced by necessity, without wilful disobedience, nor transgressing due limits, then is he guiltless. For Allah(God) is forgiving Most Merciful. " (Quran: 2/173)


Pork meat has many harmful effects on human health. The pig is not a clean animal. It lives and plays in mud and its own excrement and it even eats its own excrement. Pork meat is high in fat and cholesterol. Pork meat contains a special kind of fatty acid. When consumed this acid increases the cholesterol level of humans.

Compared to other animals pigs produce more growth hormone and high levels of growth hormone are stored in pig's tissues. When humans consume pork meat, they also consume excessive amount of growth hormone which causes humans to gain excessive weight and become obese. Pigs may be afflicted with a many diseases like Swine flu or H1N1. These diseases can be passed on to humans.


Human digestive system digests pork meat more quickly than other types of meat and pork meat absorbs toxins more easily than other types of meat. Therefore more toxins are transferred to humans when pork is consumed.

Pork meat is frequently contaminated by many parasites just as round worms, hook worms and trichina worms. These parasites are transferred to the humans when they eat pork. Especially trichina worms may cause serious health problems. When trichina worms enter the body, they settle in the muscle tissues. Trichina worms may settle in the heart muscles and cause fatal health problems. If they migrate to the human brain, they will burrow into the brain tissue and will have to be surgically removed.

This fact, which could not have been known 1400 years ago, is another proof showing that Quran is the revelation of Allah(God).
