Dinosaurs are a diverse group of animals that were the dominant terrestrial creatures for over 160 million years, from the late Triassic period (about 230 million years ago) until the end of the Cretaceous period (about 65 million years ago).

Dinosaurs suddenly became extinct approximately 65 million years ago. This mass extinction is known as the Cretaceous_Tertiary extinction event. The nature of the event that caused this mass extinction has been extensively studied since the 1970s; at present, several related theories are supported by paleontologists. Though the consensus is that an impact event was the primary cause of dinosaur extinction.( Wikipedia )

In this article, we are more concerned about "why" the dinosaurs disappeared rather than "how" they disappeared. We will cover 3 possible reasons to explain why Allah(God) made the dinosaurs disappear off the face of the planet. Surely the exact reasons are known only by Allah(God).

Among all living things human beings are the only ones who possess consciousness. Everything on earth has been created to serve a purpose for mankind and every aspect of the universe serves the needs of human beings. Since whole the universe was created for human beings, the earth had to be an appropriate place for humans to live. Think about the difficulties mankind would face if the killing machines (dinosaurs) weren't extincted when humans were created. Allah(God) created whole universe for the purpose of mankind and made the dinosaurs disappear before He created humans so that humans would not encounter the difficulties of surviving together with the dinosaurs. (Allah(God) knows best)

"O My servants who believe! surely My earth is vast, therefore Me alone should you serve." ( Quran: 29/56 ) Some ancient civilizations worshipped serpents and dragons along with the sun and moon, even though their Prophets warned them that they should only worhip Allah(God). Allah(God) shows us several signs to make us understand that He is the only one to be worshipped. For instance, Allah(God) makes the sun set everyday to show that the sun bows down to the power of Allah(God). Fearful dragons have a long history in human mythology. The dragon myths were most probably derived from unearthed dinosaur bones. By making the dinosours extinct, Allah(God) showed us that only He deserves to be worshipped.(Allah(God) knows best)

Dinosaurs were strong, smart and savage. The dinosaurs were well adapted to their environments and apparently had a worldwide distribution. Dinosaurs have been unearthed on every continent, including Antarctica. Their traces are even found on a few isolated oceanic islands, such as Spitsbergen and North Island, New Zealand. They dominated almost whole the world . But Allah(God) made them disappear showing us that no nation has the power to survive forever. Allah(God) showed us that every creature has to bow down to His power. (Allah(God) knows best)
