Seas, Rivers and Winds
"And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains. Then which of the favours of your Lord will you deny ?" ( Quran: 55 / 24-25 )
Allah(God) has assigned seas, rivers and winds to the service of humans. According to the rules of Archimedes, materials that have a lower density than the water can float in the water.
By means of the lifting force of water, ships can travel in seas and help humans transport goods from place to place.
Since their is little friction force among the ship and the water, ships can easily travel in water with the help of oars and sails.
Seas, rivers and winds are natural and priceless helpers of humankind. Humans developed floating vehicles and traveled far distances even very ancient times.
"And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains. Then which of the favours of your Lord will you deny ?" ( Quran: 55 / 24-25 )
The rivers not only helps ships travel, but also enables humans to build power dams and generate electricity. Water dams also help the watering of agricultural lands.
Trees are the main material used in ship building. If the density of wood was grater than water or the water had no lifting force, how would we be able to build ships ?
If the winds were not blowing from different directions, how could we travels by means of sails ? "Then which of the favours of your Lord will you deny ?" ( Quran: 55 / 25 )
"Most surely in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night and the day, and the ships that run in the sea with that which profits men, and the water that Allah(God) sends down from the cloud, then gives life with it to the earth after its death and spreads in it all (kinds of) animals, and the changing of the winds and the clouds made subservient between the heaven and the earth, there are signs for a people who understand." ( Quran : 2/164 )
